Nestled on the top of a hill in the southern area of Puglia, the spectacular Ugento Castle is today a luxury boutique hotel. Already rebuild during the Norman age, over the centuries this splendid Castle has undergone various evolutions, due to its turbulent history. In the seventeenth century, it was transformed in a charming residential building by the Marquis d'Amore, and has been in the d’Amore family ever since.
In a dominant position in the city of Ugento, near the beautiful beaches of the Ionian Sea, the Castle is a monument that preserves the magic of its heritage and authenticity, but also a lively place, where contemporary design pieces enhance the simple elegance of the Lecce stone and the original frescoes.

The nine elegant rooms and suites, designed to offer maximum comfort and an exclusive environment, overlook the quiet luxuriant inner courtyard. The high baroque style defines the interiors of the Castle, which are extremely decorated to celebrate the history of the building and of d'Amore family. The rooms are furnished with an elegant and tasteful selection of modern pieces made by top Italian designers along with antique finds and handmade cabinets in high quality walnut. All the suites represent the unique and warm Apulian atmosphere, the baroque elegance and the deep connection with modern design.

The patio is one of the crown jewels of this incredible boutique hotel that lies in the most beloved area of Salento. In addition to being an oasis of serenity and peace for the guests, with its "enclosed gardeni" within the walls offers over 100 varieties of herbs, vegetables and fresh fruit to the restaurant kitchen to always offer local and fresh ingredients for every meal.

Under the guidance of the Executive Chef Tommaso Sanguedolce, the gourmet restaurant Il Tempo Nuovo celebrates local, seasonal cuisine, reinventing Apulian traditional dishes with new flavors, combinations and ingredients. The menu changes everyday, based on the daily finds at the local markets, reflecting the Chef's philosophy to capture the essence of nature.
Alongside with Il Tempo Nuovo restaurant, the Puglia Culinary Center, conducted by Odette Fada, House Chef of Castello di Ugento, offer professional courses of Salento and Italian gastronomy to guests and visitors and is equipped with the most advanced technologies.
