This captivating design by Roberto Monte is inspired by the surface and depth of lakes ("laghi") as they are surrounded by land. Highly decorative, this piece functions as a splendid serving plate and is crafted entirely by hand using lava stone and lead-free blue enamel. After it is fired, the plate is submerged in castor oil and subsequently washed several times to remove excess oil: this reveals the silky smooth and water-repellent surface.
