Toscana Earth Table Vase #3

A superb and unique collector's piece, this vase of the Tuscan Earth series features an organic, sinuous form with a natural celadon glazed interior revealed through the irregular cuts of the small round mouth. Using his own blend of high-temperature stoneware clays, Davies models each piece on the potter's wheel, and with a second firing at 1300°C in an oxygen-reduction kiln the unique earth-textured surface and color come to life.
