Born in 1999, with the desire to elevate the world of seating to an iconic and sculptural universe, Adrenalina offers futurist solutions for impressive interiors. Discover the meeting between Adrenalina design and Remo Brindisi art - a signature project that dares with enthusiasm from all points of view: conceptual, stylistic and communicative.
Since its inception, Adrenalina has boldly embraced a precise objective: to challenge conventions by designing items for dreamy environments that are inspired by the future and the unknown. Adrenalina has grown by offering unique armchairs, sofas, ottomans and modular systems, daring with enthusiasm from all points of view: conceptual, stylistic and communicative. Since 2022, the artistic direction has been entrusted to Debonademeo Studio. The rebranding in 2023, in fact, testimonies a new era for the brand’s production, made of grace and elegance.
Adrenalina met the Remo Brindisi House Museum during the phase in which the brand shed the colorful palette that had distinguished it that far, to demonstrate that good design is first of all sign and form, which together represent the synthesis between design and manufacture, between experience and knowledge. Adrenalina, undergoing an aesthetic and cultural renewal, chose the museum as a setting to showcase its iconic furnishings, embracing the purity of white in harmony with the architecture designed by Nanda Vigo. This space, conceived in the 1960s by artist Remo Brindisi as an interdisciplinary and livable environment, embodies his vision of blending art, design, and everyday life. Adrenalina presents the final chapter of this project at EDIT Napoli Fair. This initiative, inspired by two tapestries designed by artist Remo Brindisi in the 1970s and crafted by Arazzeria Pennese, reflects a deep dialogue between design, art, and architecture. The installation, curated by Debonademeo and Valentina Bigiarini, merges elements from the Remo Brindisi House Museum with Adrenalina's furniture, showcasing innovative aesthetics and a unique blend of tradition and modernity.
Adrenalina was founded in 1999 and rapidly gained prominence thanks to its bold, unconventional design. What sparked this aesthetic approach that challenges traditional norms? Were there pivotal moments that shaped your distinctive identity?
Adrenalina's philosophy stems from the second-generation founder’s desire to infuse emotion and value into upholstered furniture, elevating seating to an iconic and sculptural object. Adrenalina has consistently pushed boundaries by designing pieces that appear futuristic, sparking dreams and inspiring exploration of uncharted realms.
First and foremost, Adrenalina is an experience to be embraced and shared. It’s more than a mere collection of upholstered furniture; it embodiesthe idea of sartorial and curatorial design elements that can also take on cultural significance, conveying a distinct identity and clear values. Notable highlights include interactions with people and places, the art directors we've collaborated with - from Simone Micheli to Debonademeo - and our network of designers.
Consistently innovative and forward-thinking, you successfully navigate shifting trends and emerging design demands. Where do you draw inspiration for your pieces? Tell us about your production journey, from concept to final realization.
Adrenalina is a dynamic brand that draws inspiration from its interactions with diverse places, people, and situations. The creative team is highly diverse and open-minded, receptive to both external influences and market demands. Twenty-five years after its debut, Adrenalina has achieved a remarkable balance in the development of new collections.
The creative team analyzes data to pinpoint the seating types needed to enhance the catalog's offering. They then formulate a brief and initiate a Call for Project, extending an invitation to participate to a select group of designers. Once the design aligned with the technical and stylistic criteria is selected, an extensive in-house prototyping process begins. While some collections achieve perfection on the first attempt, others require more time and multiple revisions, all overseen by Debonademeo's art directors and designers. Beyond their visually striking silhouettes, our seatings’ exceptional comfort truly enthralls our audience. Our production philosophy consistently prioritizes this feature; the most frequent feedback we receive at events is that our seats are not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly comfortable.
To date, Adrenalina boasts a considerable number of collaborations with designers from all over the world. How do you select the designers you work with, and how important is this open-mindedness and exchange of ideas for the brand identity?
Research is fundamental in all our endeavors, influencing every detail, from materials to designers. While nowadays the internet serves as a global platform, we continue to foster the valuable practice of traveling extensively to source materials, gather ideas, and foster collaborations. We value the concept of integration and fusion from a diverse array of designers across various geographic regions because it enriches our brand in every sense, extending beyond merely stylistic aspects.

In 2024, you started a collaboration with the Remo Brindisi House Museum, furnishing it with your historical collection of sofas and armchairs. Tell us more about this project that serves as a tribute to Brindisi and celebrates the integration of the Arts.
The collaboration with the Remo Brindisi House Museum originated during our 2022/2023 rebranding. On that occasion, we wanted to present Adrenalina in pure white: a never-before-seen Adrenalina, stripped of color so that it could be appreciated in its essential forms, without chromatic elements that might change the perception of the product. At that time, no place other than the House Museum could host Adrenalina, not only for the pure white of its one-of-a-kind clinker tiles but also for their innovative interdisciplinary concept cultivated over the years. Having such intimate access to the House has allowed us to rediscover a series of values that are perfectly akin to our company's DNA. Remo Brindisi was an enthusiast of interdisciplinary exchange in the Arts, design, architecture and a passionate patron and collector of design objects since the 1970s.
The project unfolded in two stages. The first emphasized pure white: the essence of forms and the symbolic connection between Remo Brindisi and Nanda Vigo, architect and friend of the Maestro. The second stage arose from in-depth archival research at the House Museum, eventually leading to another encounter with the Maestro's tapestries. Two tapestries, currently on display, resonated deeply with us for their materiality, mirroring the fabrics we use for our seatings. Fabric is also the first point of contact between the user and our designs; so [inspired by this connection] we reimagined our seats using the colors and graphic elements from those tapestries. This process led to a small capsule collection, where each exclusive piece is unique and irreplaceable just like the tapestries.
