The Artisans

Located by the town of Ortisei, in Val Gardena on the Dolomites Mountains, the workshop of Falegnameria Helmut Santifaller is inspired by the local wood carving tradition from this area. Experienced carpenters handcraft each piece of furniture, which is then hand decorated by expert artisans to create distinctive and timeless objects of functional décor that can be passed down for generations. Often using reclaimed, antique wood, these craftsmen use traditional methods to bring each piece to life, adding at times small modern elements for a timeless effect.

Antonio Tacchini established his brand in 1965 in Brianza, the world-renowned cabinet-making district near Milan. His sons inherited the company that has become like a family, embracing all the people, from designers to craftsmen, who work there. In constant evolution, Tacchini celebrates the Italian crafting tradition with the quality of its materials and attention to detail in every step of the production process, while also being deeply involved in environmental sustainability.

Vanessa Cavallaro learned the secrets of the glyptic glassmaking on the wheel as a child, visiting her family workshop. Her subsequent studies in fine arts and design and her constant exploration of glassmaking and engraving gave her the ability to create veritable art pieces. In 1993 she started her own workshop in Altare, in Liguria, collaborating with experienced craftsmen. In 2000, she was asked to participate at the 11th Decoration et Jardin exhibit in Monte Carlo, earning the status of international artist and designer.

Founded in 1967 near Verona by brothers Remo, Renzo and Bruno, Bianchini is a third-generation family business committed to excellence and impeccable hand-craftsmanship. Specialized in gold-leaf decorations and inlay work, Bianchini’s philosophy is grounded in artistic traditions and meticulous detailing, believing no machine can ever replace the beauty and mastery of human touch. Bianchini’s artisans constantly evolve their craft to adapt to emerging technologies, creating timeless masterpieces that express the magnificence of the past with a novel touch.

Edi Chirumbolo stands out for his ability to create unique furniture pieces that transform spaces into original and captivating environments. His constant pursuit of uniqueness is reflected in works that not only furnish but also tell stories and evoke emotions, making each creation a distinctive and unrepeatable piece.

Born in Pordenone in 1965, Paola Paronetto has dedicated her life to pushing the boundaries of ceramics, both as a medium and as an art form. Paronetto innovative interpretation of ancient clay-making is rooted in her experiences in Gubbio, Deruta, Faenza, Florence and Vicenza where she honed her craft. Her constant experimentation is driven by the beauty of nature and the simplicity of forms. Her most recent artistic endeavor is paper clay, a blend of paper pulp, natural fibers, and clay that results in a unique texture with a delicate and tactile quality.

Mogg debuted at the Salone del Mobile in Milan 2012, showcasing designs marked by dynamism, versatility, and strong attention to detail. Founded by Nicola Galbiati, architect with a long-standing experience in interior design, Mogg's objects and home decor accessories are distinguished for their strong aesthetic and functional qualities. Inspired by the ideals of modern living, Mogg's iconic pieces are synonymous with quality, emerging from natural materials to strike the perfect balance between bold geometric patterns and expressive graphic lines.

After studying computer engineering and working for 15 years in several factories in Vicenza, in northern Italy, Nicola Tessari decided to dedicate his life to creating one-of-a-kind pieces. He turned his passion into a job and became a craftsman. These furniture pieces and home décor objects are designed to stand the test of time. Crafted with attention to detail and finished mainly using hand tool, each item boasts imperfections and unique signs that are the distinctive features of manual craftsmanship.

A family business whose story is woven in the fabric of Venice’s rich artistic history, the Bevilacqua’s presence in the textile world dates back to 1499. Founded by Luigi Bevilacqua in 1875, today the company is managed by brothers Rodolfo and Alberto Bevilacqua, who carry on the family business and tradition. Specialized in velvet textiles and damask Renaissance designs, Tessitura Bevilacqua preserves the ancient Venetian textile art to create unique fabrics, with individual details and color gradients,that infuse historical designs with a hint of modernity.

Arbaro is a young and dynamic carpentry based in Milan. Our concept of dynamic joinery ensures that we take care of the whole creative process: from the design of furniture to its manufacturing. Playfulness and mannerisms come together and blend in with our functional, down-to-earth style. We love the honesty of raw matter, but at the same time we are always on the lookout for new, versatile and durable materials. Wood is both the protagonist and the file rouge of our creations. Playing with surfaces, colours and textures is what makes them unique.

Epònimo was funded by Federico Carandini, former creative director of Cerruti Baleri. His furniture collections combine the splendor of the past with the prospect of the future and they are designed for a contemporary home that favors functional, comfortable, and elegant pieces. To create these unique pieces, Epònimo collaborates exclusively with local craftsmen through a production process that is largely handmade and always hand finished. The end result is a series of refined and timeless objects of functional décor.

Architects Mauro Cazzaro and Antonella Maione founded Kanz Architetti studio in Venice, effortlessly combining architecture and interior design with product design. With careful attention to detail and an experimental approach, they create glass and ceramic pieces for the contemporary home. Collaborating with local craftsmen and combining tradition with innovation, Kanz creates precious objects that strike a balance between functionality and decoration.

In 1949, in Bovolone, a town near Verona, Severino Cantiero opened a workshop specialized in crafting luxury furniture with a classic design. Today, Cantiero is a brand competing with the biggest international companies in the field of refined cabinet making. Dedicated to superior quality and renowned for their innovative allure that reinterprets classic silhouettes, Cantiero’s timeless pieces feature finishes applied according to traditional methods, boasting natural colors and using only patented treatments.

Founded in 2010 by designer Paola Santilli, Piloh is an artistic concept that combines ancient handcrafting techniques and innovative forms and designs. Using nature as a guide, Piloh creates high-end pieces that reveal the intrinsic relationship between nature and art. Through thoughtful experimentation with shapes, materials, and textures, each piece explores the boundaries of art and design, transforming everyday objects into works of art with infinite potential.

Based in Milan, Malcusa specializes in the creation of luxury traditional and contemporary rugs. Under the masterful guidance of Brand Milano Tessuti, Malcusa has been able to thrive through partnerships with designers and artists around the world to create exceptional works of art. Their vision is rooted in design innovation, high-quality materials, and traditional hand craftsmanship. Following ancient hand-crafting techniques, southeast Asian customs and culture can harmoniously coexist with timeless Italian aesthetic and styles.

Giberto Arrivabene was raised by strong female figures in Palazzo Papadopoli, Venice, surrounded by frescoes of Giambattista Tiepolo and other artists. The context in which he grew up had a great impact on his unique aesthetic sense. Love for glass and craftsmanship is at the heart of his work. Giberto creates each piece starting first with a watercolor sketch and then handing it to expert glass blowers carvers from the glass capital Murano. These true artists are entrusted with the difficult work of engraving designs of any kind.

“First came the egg!” Mario Bottiglieri was born in 1964 in Naples. After starting a degree in Architecture, he quit it to pursue his two major passions, design and Naples, in a more practical way. Expressive and conceptual, Bottiglieri is a well-established interior designer. Mario experiments with furniture and decorative objects blending Neapolitan traditions and a contemporary concepts and style. His work is now a reference when it comes to home décor, the EGG being the signature object of his artistic creations.

Marco Castorina is the heir of an ancient family of carvers, a reference for the prestigious Florence wood artisan guild since 1895. His careful work and research led the shop to be considered unique in its field, becoming a landmark for architects and interior designers, with more than 5.000 items in continuous evolution. The knowledge of the Castorina family is handed down from father to son since the beginning of their activity to safeguard the Florentine heritage.
