Babà Murano Glass Coffee Table

With Babà coffee table, artist-designer Alice Crepaldi explores the possibilities and limitations of the traditional Murano-cage blown glass technique. The ambition of this project was to investigate the maximum possible size of the metal cage and its openings beyond which the glass cannot go, thus testing the expansion capacity of the glass and its structural strength. Current in green, it is available in different colors like amber and blue. Slight variations may apply in the replica due to a handmade production process. Each artifact is unique: the height, the “fullness,” the cut, and the color shading depends on the exact moment the glass is blown inside the metal cage by the Master glassmaker. Only available in turquoise green with raw black metal finish.
