Juxtaposition Compact and Porous Lava Stone and Textured Bronze Bench

Designed by Cristian Ferretti in collaboration with Sartorialitica, the Juxtaposition bench explores the expressive tension between porous and compact lava stone, enriched by a textured bronze surface cast directly from the stone’s natural pores. The material itself becomes a matrix guiding each process, generating a cohesive yet layered composition. The central body repurposes a “peel” element derived from a split cut, while the seat in lost-wax cast bronze translates organic irregularities into a refined tactile surface, enhancing contrast and continuity. Due to its artisanal nature and the use of raw materials, each piece is inherently unique, and any natural variations are to be considered a distinctive feature rather than a flaw.
