La Regina Delle Amazzoni Polychrome Ceramic & Wooden Sculpture

A creative combination of ceramic, wood, and copper was selected by artist Daniele Nannini to craft this one-of-a-kind sculpture that pays homage to one of the Republic of Benin's ancient roots. Towed by a couple of rhinoceros imagined by Nannini, the cart welcomes the head of the Dahomey Amazons - an all-female military regiment in charge of protecting the king of Dahomey - sitting in a rustic throne, eloquent detail speaking to these warriors' power.
