Palla Red Sculpture

Part of a series of spherical sculptures crafted by Lucia Cavalli and meant to adorn a rustic, industrial, or contemporary decor, this red and grey globe will make a statement on a shelf or mantelpiece, thanks to its smooth silhouette and irregular decorations, evoking the depiction of a far-away planet. It was fired once in the kiln and made of "terraglia bianca", a special clay traditionally used to make pottery in the town of Lodi, near Milan, and it was decorated with wax and a red slip of ceramic made with the "ingobbio" technique.
