Paravent Ambassade Wood Room Divider

In 1969, Charlotte Perriand designed a room divider for the Japanese ambassador to France, blending her passion for the Far East with her mastery of functional design. To overcome budget constraints, she ingeniously repurposed solid rosewood offcuts from her Tabourets, crafting a modular structure of 313 hand-finished blocks connected by tension rods. The result is an architectural masterpiece, a sculptural screen with fluid, dynamic movement, evoking the elegance of fine craftsmanship.
