The Artist is Not Present - Painting
Description
Oil and acrylic on canvas. The artist is present, but he lies exhausted and helpless. The role of the artist in society is often marginalized. He is helpless, naked, stripped of his own aspirations, distressed and isolated, often unsuccessful and forgotten. The cynical and busy society surrounds him, not caring much, and a man in a suit and tie stands out, observing, but having no understanding. This represents the bourgeois who often exploits the artist and decides his fortunes and misfortunes.
