Tenuta Petrolo: A Treasure in the Heart of Tuscany

​​Tenuta Petrolo is an enchanting estate located right in the center of Tuscany, between Arezzo, Florence and Siena, nestled on the south-eastern borders of the Chianti hills that overlook the whole Valdarno valley. A landscapes of typical rolling Tuscan hills welcomes you reaching the manor, covered with olive groves, vineyards and woods.

In this wild countryside hides this majestic property which includes one luxury villa (Villa Petrolo), built in the early decades of '700 by artist Massimiliano Soldani Benzi, and 4 other surrounding rustic farmhouses.

​Visiting the Tenuta is an authentic jump back in time: immerse in beautiful green surroundings, historic monuments and ancient treasures silently stand as evidence of the regional cultural heritage. Indeed, the manor is dominated by the stone watchtower of Galatrona, proud legacy of an important medieval castle known at least since 963.

Within the estate, facing Villa Petrolo, stands the ancient Romanesque church of San Giovanni a Galatrona which holds precious renaissance works fom the Della Robbia family. A few hiking paths leave from here towards the ridges that lead to the hamlets of San Leolino, Cennina and Solata worth discovering for exceptional scenaries, mushroom hunts and breathe local country life.

​The real essence of Tenuta Petrolo lies in a long winemaking tradition: since the second half of the 80’s the production is focused on wines with character, connected to Tuscan territory thanks to vines of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

In this exquisitely curated scenario, which combines nature, history, art and great hospitality, the guest is welcome to visit the wine cellars that produce some of the most renowned wines in Italy and taste the products of Tenuta Petrolo in a wonderful, special context: the authentic place where they are made.

​Visiting Villa Petrolo and the other rustic farmhouses inside the property is a magic experience: completely restored under the guidance of the owner Luca Sanjust, this 18th century Villa reflects the original local spirit, recreating curated environments where you can still breathe the atmosphere of the past. Exquisitely furnished with antique pieces and prestigious works of art, each room is decorated with warm shades of pastel colors that blend with the natural light, immersing the guest in a relaxing atmosphere.
