Guerriero Black Sculpture

A study of an equestrian sculpture, this handcrafted piece is made of ceramic with a matte solid black finish and detailed with traditional Apulian motifs on the shield. The hand-carved decoration is obtained with "sgraffito," an ancient technique where two successive layers of contrasting glaze are applied to the ceramic body and then the top layer is scratched, following desired patterns to reveal parts of the underlying color. A modern piece with an ethnic flair that will complement any decor.
