The Milanese nature of the company is found in the dynamism of the creations combined with the use of Lombard craftsmanship.

Lorenz was founded on Milan's Via Montenapoleone in 1934; founder Tullio Bolletta was a master watchmaker and immediately combined Italian creativity and Swiss technique. In 2017 Lorenz decided to produce again its iconic Static table clock, designed in 1959 by Richard Sapper and winner of the Compasso D'Oro in 1960. Pietro Bolletta, the grandson of Lorenz's founder, searched the Milan area for numerous artisan companies that could make a Static "Made in Italy."
Several local companies are currently involved in the production, with the goal of making a handcrafted product. In detail, the starting materials of the case are different and special, such as steel, Avional (a type of aluminum used in the aircraft industry), and bronze. The metals are machine-turned and then treated to achieve the finish (lacquering, anodization, satin-finishing). The dial is made of aluminum and hand-printed with special inks. The assembly of hands, movement, and glass is done by hand.
