Barbini

Barbini Specchi Veneziani is a creative and multifaceted workshop founded in Murano in 1927 by Nicolò Barbini. It is the oldest Murano company still in business in the production of Venetian mirrors.

Currently the company, which boasts a glorious family tradition in the field of glass, dating back to the 17th century, relies on the work of three generations of expert artisans. All stages of processing are carried out in Murano and supervised by brothers Vincenzo and Giovanni Barbini and their respective children, Nicola, Marco, Giovanna, Pietro, Andrea and Filippo, who are capable of continuously reinterpreting a priceless heritage of techniques and secrets.

The company counts in its varied Portfolio important architectural and interior design studios, High Fashion Brands, such as Dolce&Gabbana and Bottega Veneta, institutions such as the La Biennale di Venezia Foundation, designers and artists from all over the world. Among the numerous collaborations are Joan Jonas, Joseph Kosuth, Philippe Starck, Roger Thomas, India Madawi, and the renowned Italian design company Fornasetti.

Since 2015, it has benefited from the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark and is a member of the Promovetro Consortium, an institution that deals with the promotion of Murano glass culture.It adheres to numerous collective exhibitions, also participating in valuable events such as Homo Faber, the 47th edition of the GAS Conference and The Venice Glass Week, winning, in 2019, the Bonhams Prize in its first edition with the Materia Eterea exhibition.

In 2018 Vincenzo and Giovanni Barbini, owners of the company, are awarded the MAM (Maestro d'Arte e Mestiere) honor, and in 2023 they appear among the 20 finalists for the Talents du Luxe et de la Creation award for the Elegance category.
