Designing with Light: The Italian Art of Illumination

What inspires your lighting collections?

Our growth has been very organic in terms of the variety within our collections. We began with a single designer, Corrado Dotti, the mind behind our iconic Nabila lamp. Over time, we expanded our portfolio by collaborating with prominent names such as Studiopepe, Federica Biasi, Federico Peri, Cara \ Davide, Roberto Giacomucci, Studio10, and more recently, Fabio Fantolino, Duccio Maria Gambi, and Marco Casamonti, whose creations we unveiled at Euroluce in April 2025.

We like to give our architects and designers freedom, offering only broad guidelines—perhaps suggesting a type of lamp—and then allowing them to express their creativity. We are continually inspired and impressed by their work. For us, light is a magical tool: it transforms the experience of living in a space through its infinite ability to convey emotion. Each designer and architect has brought new sensibilities and visions, amplifying this enchantment.

How do you balance aesthetics and functionality in your products?

Every collection begins with a strong visual identity, but always designed to interact with a space in a functional way—ensuring quality of light, durability, and ease of use. Our aim is to create unique, recognizable products that appeal to a market particularly attuned to taste and originality.

A perfect example is our LEI spotlight collection, designed by Studio10. This technical lighting system is distinguished by a crystalline, elegant aesthetic, built around ribbed elements that evoke a sense of grace while maintaining technical precision.

What does “Italian design” mean to you in the context of lighting and interiors?

It means creating products with uncompromising craftsmanship and preserving the culture of “ben fatto”—the art of doing things beautifully and with care. Our passion for light has deep family roots and finds its voice in the endless possibilities that light itself offers.
