Al Dom: A Lake Side Dream

Al Dom B&B is situated in a 18th century renovated building in the heart of the town of Orta San Giulio, on the shores of the lake. The warm yet sophisticated atmosphere, given by the refined interiors and the flourishing garden will enchant you.

Al Dom is set in a 18th century building on the shores of Lake Orta, in Piedmont. The picturesque medieval town is built on a promontory that faces San Giulio island, where it is possible to visit the San Giulio Basilica decorated with frescoes from 14th century.
Despite being a small village, Orta San Giulio is full of interesting and fascinating spots, such as Monte Sacro, UNESCO World Heritage site since 2003: philosopher Friederich Nietzsche himself was amazed at the sight of the area.

The Villa hosting the B&B was fully renovated, but it keeps the historical charm and the magical atmosphere from late 1700: hand-painted panelled ceilings, terracotta sculptures and staircases in stone reflect the local traditional craftsmanship. Al Dom is a family-run business, warm and welcoming, yet it has a sophisticated and elegant allure that will make your stay exclusive and special.

The establishment has four rooms with parquet, tiles and marble floors, furnished with wooden décor from 1950s and iron elements. The balconies offer a stunning view of the lake and Sang Giuliano island.

In the backyard there is a hortus conclusus: an enclosed garden that, thanks to the mild climate, blooms during the first days of Spring. Colorful flowers and luxuriant camellia, maple and camphor trees stand out in the tranquil court decorated with tables and chairs to relax or enjoy breakfast.
In the Winter season, Al Dom is a strategic accommodation to reach skii slopes nearby, while in Summer the main activities are suggestive walks and rifting in some of the most beautiful rivers of Europe.
The friendly owners can organize bike tours and excursions in the area, offering the possibility to the visitors to completely immerse themselves in unspoiled nature.
