Angelo Vase by Jean-Marie Massaud - Main view

Both a stunning sculpture and a functional vase, this modern vase by French designer Jean-Marie Massaud captures the dynamic and organic appearance of liquid mercury. The smoky glass case is composed of panels glued at a 45° angle to create a seamless geometric container for the soft, curvaceous insert made of black ceramics suspended inside. Entirely crafted by hand, each vase will show a unique appearance and sculptural form. The ceramic element (available also in opaque white and platinum) is hollow and suitable to contain water.

Bitossi Ceramiche

Toscana, Italy | Ceramist

Editor's Picks

Bitossi ceramics are made entirely by hand by our master craftsmen. Each piece is an icon of contemporary style and creativity that testifies to the excellence of Made in Italy handed down through generations

The Bitossi Ceramiche company was founded by Guido Bitossi, heir to a centuries-old tradition, in 1921.

The evolution in a modern direction became apparent from the early 1950s, under the artistic direction of Aldo Londi, a man of innate creative and aesthetic sense, attentive to changes in taste and the uniqueness of Italian products. Londi made his entrance at Bitossi in 1946 and from that moment he was the undisputed protagonist of the production style for more than fifty years. Over the years many designers have dealt with Bitossi, creating new collections. First among them was the architect Ettore Sottsass, who began frequenting the Bitossi factory from 1955 to experiment and create new modern ceramics. His collections would open a new chapter in the history of Italian design. Bitossi Ceramiche, still located in its historic headquarters and led by Ginevra Bocini, the fourth generation of the Bitossi family, represents Italian made-in-Italy excellence.

Bitossi Ceramiche, in the year 2014, was entered in the register of “Historic Italian Companies” established by the National Unioncamere.
