This design is inspired by the engraved rock crystal jug that was part of Caterina de Medici’s heritage. This art piece was handed over to her granddaughter Cristina di Lorena in 1589. Since then, it kept on being cataloged in the Uffizi book and preserved with Ludovica de Medici’s collection in Palazzo Pitti.
