Luci in Piazzetta a Capri Polychrome Ceramic Vase by Nino Basso

Named after the poetic suggestion of lights illuminating a small square on the island of Capri, this singular vase in glazed ceramic never fails to seduce with its sensual sculptural silhouette. A spectacular metallic finish rich in iridescent effects characterizes the piece, which Nino Basso minutely molded by hand combining the coiling and Japanese Raku methods. Enriched with a bold groove enhancing its fluidity, each piece is followed by care instructions and an authenticity certificate.

Discovering the Artisan

Design Center 1991
Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy | Accessories Maker
Design Center’s first prototypes by Nino Basso made their debut at the end of the 1980s: home and office accessories defined by formal simplicity and elegant craftsmanship. Already art director of an international fashion brand, Basso established a small artisan firm in Spilimbergo, a town between Venice and Trieste. In 1991, his niece, graphic designer and photographer Cristina Colonnello, joined the brand, expanding to interior furnishings and industrial designs. Basso continues creating numbered series and single pieces that lie at the intersection of art and design.Discover more
