Pasifae Sculpture
USD 4,510
Description
Actualizing the mad love of Pasiphae for the bull, this ceramic sculpture was obtained from white earthenware fired to acquire a delicate ivory hue and finally brightened by a layer of liquid wax. According to the most popular version of the myth, her husband Minosse fails to sacrifice a bull at the altar of Poseidon as he had promised and Pasiphae is cursed with a twisted, crazy passion for the bull as revenge from the gods.
