A Finnish interior architect and product designer based in Italy, Kristiina Lassus began her exploration of artisanal rug weaving in 2006. Traveling around the world, she discovered the complex art of traditional handcrafting and began creating her distinctive pieces in Nepal, and starting in 2024, also in India and Pakistan.

Kristiina Lassus’s main collection is distinguished by hand-knotted rugs made in Nepal using ancient Tibetan techniques, a meticulous process that takes approximately 16 weeks to complete a single piece. This artisanal mastery ensures high-quality rugs designed to last for generations. Each creation is crafted with an exclusive mix of natural materials and textures: hand spun wool, silk, linen, bamboo silk, hemp and nettle. Committed to ethical and environmental values, Kristiina Lassus’s production is certified by Label STEP, a fair-trade organisation in rug industry.
