Bad Sculpture

This powerful design in the shape of a fish in glossy black with hand-painted gold details resting on a wave-like base was made using a mold and handcrafted with the pinch method. The striking texture and metallic glare of this sculpture were obtained with an exclusive technique developed in the 1930s by Gatti specifically for the platinum and gold decorations applied by hand with a brush during a third firing (at 700°). A stately ornamental piece that will accent an entryway or a contemporary living room.
