The designs for the tapestry series CAPOVOLTO are based on a mask with human facial features that are reflected upside down. An individual character has different moods and sides of his or her personality. Which one is prevailing? The artwork can also be hung upside down (in Italian you say 'capovolto') making the other mood prevail. The colors are bright pink, red and burgundy in a three-dimensional finish. The tapestry has a black wooden frame. The artwork is numbered and signed by the artist.

Discovering the Artisan

Mariano Franzetti
Lombardia, Italy | Artist
Ceaseless experimentation with new techniques and materials nurtures Mariano Franzetti's artistic language. Of Argentine origin, he studied Architecture at the Universidad Nacional in Cordoba before moving to Italy to be closer to the Renaissance masterpieces that have inspired his artistic mark. Among his successful group and solo exhibitions, the 2021/2022 "PUTTY TOYS TRICKY, LORO” boasts sculptures, tapestries, paintings, and bas-reliefs, through which Franzetti sheds light on the fascinatingly contradictory nature of contemporary life.Discover more
