Da Quel Giorno, Che Credo Fosse Un Undici Mosaic on Panel - Main view

This singular, fascinating work of art rewrites mosaic in a fresh contemporary key leaving rigorous canons behind. Emerging from a backdrop of irregular gray-toned ceramic tiles, the face of a woman emerges neat and seductive with flocks of red hair lying on her shoulders. PAOLO GIORDANO

Chandigarh is a collection inspired by Le Corbusier's Radiant City. The vases are made in concrete, colored with the oxides that give the material pastel and chalky tones. They are small structures, vibrant and poetic architectures, and can be used as vase or left as they are. A color can mark the thicknesses by emphasizing the contours. Simple signs like an imaginary alphabet. Evocative structures that reveal a world of unlikely geometries.

Hermes, a concrete sculpture, and Venus, a marble sculpture, are part of a large work that is also photographic: ‘Digital Journey into the Classic’, where the original classic is provocatively manipulated, cut and distorted. The project draws from an archive of classical Greek and Roman beauty. A bulky heritage for those who no longer seek balance and perfection of form, but still look to the past as an immense source of inspiration. In this series of objects and images Paolo Giordano has provocatively given life to virtual and abstract sculptures, which maintain strong physicality.
