Livio De Simone

Textile Designer - Campania, Italy

Livio De Simone created his company in the 50s and became the icon of the Capri style, with his artisan approach to production and his love for vivid colors. The new generation continues honoring this legacy, making one-of-a-kind ceramics and printing on fine fabric using the same system Livio invented to create home décor with (as he would say) “brushes of joy in every possible color.”

Brushes of Joy in Every Possible Color.

Born in Naples in 1920, Livio De Simone abandoned his career as a lawyer at a very young age and invested in his creative talent, quickly establishing himself as one of the leading figures in Italian prết-à-porter.

In 1956 he founded I the company that bears his name, paraded his clothes and accessories at the Pitti Palace, the Prince of Savoy, dressed divas such as Audrey Hepburn and Elsa Martinelli, and became an icon in the VIP Capri of the 1960s-70s and 80s. The company was born, which over the years would create a well-defined and very recognizable LIFESTYLE. The particularity of his style is a freehand printing technique, a hallmark of the brand for sixty years.

When Livio passed away, the reins of the company were passed first to his wife Graziella, who had always been the brand's commercial leader, then to his daughter Benedetta, who in 2008 had the intuition to extend the family's creativity into home design, keeping faith with Livio's slogan, “all possible colors,” with continuous color experimentation always straddling tradition and modernity.

Home design is an integrated and ever-evolving collection of fabrics, ceramics, rugs, pillows and wallpaper, designed to live and create together a unique style for your home.
