Alcuni Cani Volano Cotton and Wool Tapestry

Part of the Linea Contemporanea collection, "Alcuni cani volano" is an embroidered cotton tapestry worked in cross-stitch wool, a piece of pronounced material depth, where color and relief give the textile surface a sculptural dimension. The dogs, protagonists of the composition, appear suspended in impossible movement: neither running nor grounded, but hovering as light, visionary figures, held by the thread and simultaneously liberated by it. A homage to Paolo Volponi, whose work interweaves reflection on industrial modernity with a powerful imaginative tension. In this unique piece, Giulio Caponi channels that fantastic yet concrete dimension: the dog, an everyday domestic animal, is lifted from gravity and rendered as a suspended, almost symbolic figure. The embroidery does not merely depict, it constructs a scene, where color becomes depth, relief suggests movement, and the weave gives physical form to an imaginary possibility.
