Design Talent: Elisa Ossino

Meet Elisa Ossino and discover her magnetic aesthetics. In a combination of geometric abstraction, monochromatism and metaphysical references, her signature style gives life to an eclectic relationship between space, lights and objects.

Sicilian architect and designer, Elisa Ossino founded her eponymous design studio in Milan, working on commercial and residential interiors, product and set design, and art direction. Her design approach combines geometric abstraction with a signature surrealistic taste, focusing on a multidisciplinary vision of design. To inspire Elisa’s compositional style is a figure of scenic suspension, recurring in the weightless design of each intervention.

Essential lines and geometries are the distinctive features of her designs, giving to the space they are located in a deep scenographic feeling.

Since the creation of her Milanese studio in 2006, she has developed a style that plays on contrasts. Geometric and light lines confront the intensity of monochrome structures. Each creation is the result of a meticulous research also based on her passion for art: from the metaphysical geometry of Giorgio De Chirico to the chiaroscuro technique of Caravaggio’s paintings. The result is a final composition in which the furniture and objects created resonate with the space around them.

I like spaces that do not represent reality too closely. Art is an inspiration in this sense: when I design a space I elevate it to a mere abstraction, I like it to be suspended and dreamlike.
