MEET THE DESIGNER

Rottet Studio was founded in 2008 by Lauren Rottet, arguably one of the most accomplished interior architect and designer of our generation, being the first woman in history to be elevated to Fellow status by both the American Institute of Architects and the International Interior Design Association and celebrated by the design industry’s top honors.

She played a significant role in shaping the design landscape of the world’s leading luxury hotels, cruise lines, high-rise residential, homes and offices for high profile individuals all over the world. Rottet is celebrated for tailoring her innovative and sophisticated designs, which combine a deep understanding of architecture with a keen eye for interior detail, to ensure every project is unique.

I like to think of design like a musical score that begins by capturing one’s attention, then is calm and pleasant, then crescendos to the moment of joy. I hope to create environments that are long lasting and inspire the more time one spends in them.

The Living Room Concept

The Living Room of L’Appartamento is a classical space adorned with gilded walls, parquet floors, and high wainscots. Embracing the warm hues of the wood floors, adorned walls with golden silk brocade fabric, and celadon green accents Rottet Studio chose to further enhance the color palette: hand-cast amber-colored glass coffee tables, green marble consoles, a salmon pink sofa and chairs, and dichroic glass tables that reflect all hues and light are just some of the furniture pieces that have been carefully selected for visitors to admire upon entering the living room.

Drawing inspiration from the lush ivy surrounding Residenza Vignale, the design process was guided by the natural beauty of the surroundings. For Rottet Studio, it was imperative to personally visit the location. This allowed them to appreciate and evaluate the multitude of shades and intricate details of the space, enabling the creation of an atmosphere dedicated to leaving visitors in awe. While honoring the spirit of the early 1900s Milanese Liberty Style home, the design seamlessly integrates contemporary elements, transforming the space into a timeless yet modern setting.

The idea for the Living room is simply a symphony of the thoughts that occurred in the room complied over time building upon the original layers then being expressed visually
