Each globe I create is a unique journey, handmade with passion, transforming raw materials into light and delicate works of art.

Micaela Mancini Imperatore was born in 1964 in Florence and lives and works in Sanremo. In recent years she has created and curated a collection of globes that have been published in prestigious publications, such as Vogue UK, and presented at MIDA, the International Museum of Women Artists in Ceresole d'Alba.
Each artefact is a unique piece made entirely by hand and numbered. To create it, ceramic powder, white Carrara marble powder and cement are used as base materials, which are placed in a flask and swirled so that they rest completely on the inner surface of the flask. Then, after the drying time, the flask is broken and the globes are decorated. Being based on raw materials, unlike ceramics, these works are very light and delicate. With regard to finishes, oxides, pigments, bitumen, putty, wax, various waxes, cements, modelling paste, acrylic colours, gold or silver leaf and many other materials are used. On request, custom-made items from small to large dimensions can be produced. The Globo is not just a piece of furniture, but a unique piece, truly handmade in every stage of production.
