This magnificent sculpture derives its name from the Ancient Greek word for orchid: sandal of the world. This work of art is crafted entirely by hand and is made of stainless steel, bronze, and copper to create a multicolored effect. The refined harmony of petals creates an oblong silhouette exquisitely rendered by Alessandro Rametta. The stunning texture of petals is obtained with the repoussage technique for the bronze, braze welding for the copper, and a method that the artist personally developed for the steel. The finish is in micro-crystal wax.
