A suspension that blurs the depths. The work fails to show itself as a whole in all its drafting. It puts the central surface out of focus in favor of those to the side, so that the dance of the eyes in chasing them intones a harpsichord chatter. The Cold Encaustic technique is based on wax, which, given its softness, guarantees versatility. Three-dimensional effects are formed throughout the production process by raising the wax and beating it with iron brushes.

Traglio Vismara
Lombardia, Italy | Painter
Born in Italy in 1955, Isabella Vismara studied art in Milan before moving to the United States for her artistic debut in a group exhibition at the Boston Fine Arts Museum in 1979. Her subsequent group exhibition - Gli AmiciPittori - was in 2002 at the Superstudio in Milan, achieving critical acclaim. Her signature painting technique, cold encaustic on wood, allows for a more textural effect than oil paint. Her Human Kind Visiting God (2014) in Robilant+Voena (London) and Anima Mundi (2016) at Sotheby's (Milan) are just a few of her successful solo exhibitions.Discover more
