Barberini & Gunnell

Barberini & Gunnell is an architecture and design studio founded in 2009 in Ancona by architects Francesco Barberini and Nina A. Gunnell. At the heart of their vision is the idea that architecture and design can become genuine works of art. The architecture studio is complemented by the Atelier, a creative space where objects and sculptures are brought to life using outstanding artisanal techniques.

The studio stands out for its design of high-end residential spaces, far removed from fleeting trends, characterized by a refined, harmonious, and timeless aesthetic. These environments are enriched with collectible pieces and artworks conceived not only as furnishings but also as narrative and distinctive elements.

The Atelier produces unique or limited-edition pieces for exclusive projects, combining precious materials such as marine-grade stainless steel, cast bronze, brass, rare woods, marble, onyx, crystal glass, and semi-precious stones. Every creation blends traditional craftsmanship with advanced technologies, with obsessive attention to detail.

Among the studio’s clients are Sotheby’s, Paramount Pictures, and the Andrea Bocelli Foundation. Their works also appear in Ridley Scott’s film House of Gucci.

Sustainability, the use of natural materials, and the revival of refined artisanal techniques are central values in Barberini & Gunnell’s philosophy.

Their works are exhibited at major international art and design fairs, including Art Basel Miami, PAD London, PAD Paris, and Salon Art+Design New York, among others.
