Venetian Chandeliers

Explore a curated collection of splendid Murano chandeliers that evoke the charm of magnificent Venetian interiors of the 17th century. The elaborated shapes of these stately chandeliers is possible thanks to the incredible glass making techniques that have been refined for centuries in the island of Murano.

Murano chandeliers are blown using techniques that date back to the 14th century and that have been refined over the following centuries. This small island outside Venice has been home to some of the greatest innovators in the glass manufacturing process. The world renowned Venetian chandeliers started being developed around 1700 and are often adorned by floral motives and feature beautiful, vivid colors.

One of the most well known types of Venetian chandelier goes under the name of "Rezzonico Chandelier". It was originally designed by Giuseppe Briati for the noble Rezzonico family, and presented unique challenges in its manufacturing that involved a multitude of pieces that are singularly mouth blown by expert glassmisths.
