For Milan Design Week 2021, Artemest presents AQVA: a gallery-like exhibition of bespoke artworks and design pieces inspired by the theme of water, handmade by Italian artisans and showcased at the prestigious Senato Hotel Milano.
Italian design and craftsmanship celebrate the city of Milan through a reinterpretation of its ancient waters: the project, under the artistic direction of Milanese architects Ciarmoli Queda Studio, stems from the desire to bring the hidden waters of the city to the surface, drawing the viewer’s eye to celebrate the importance of water as a source of life and energy.
AQVA features artisanal objects and artworks from all over Italy, chosen for their ability to surprise and fascinate the viewer, including works byAnna Paola Cibin, Atlasproject, Biancodichina, Casarialto, Cedrimartini, Coralla Maiuri, Daniela Forti, Fonderia Artistica Ruocco, Fornice Objects, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, La Fucina di Efesto, Margherita Fanti, Micheluzzi Glass, Monica Gasperini, Paolo Castelli, Patrizia Polese, ROU Materiaal, UpGroup.
Guests will be transported on a sensory journey that will begin in the Hall of Senato Hotel and continue in the elegant central courtyard. Right in the courtyard, whose water feature recalls the presence of the Naviglio Grande that once flowed in front of the building, visitors can walk at the edge of water, immersed in a dreamlike atmosphere where stunning artworks rise from the water in a suggestive show of reflections, lights and sounds.
