Blue Bird Sculpture by Aldo Londi

This minimalist sculpture represents a bird executed in white clay with a blue finish resting on two fine metal poles on a square base. The stylized bird is painted in vivid blue and adorned with geometric engravings and a few parallel irregular darker strokes of color, which is mirrored by the dark color finishing of the base. This piece was designed by Aldo Londi in 1953.
