Masterfully crafted using the century-old colombino technique, this sculpture from the numbered Cell series evokes the organic shape and movement of one of the building blocks of all life: cells. The pearl-white, enamel glazed exterior boasts a textured surface recalling cracked soil, while the contrasting dark interior flaunts an array of concave elements visible through the top opening, the resulting contrast serving as the defining feature of this piece. Fired in the kiln at 1260 °C.
