Doge Shoe-Shaped Polychrome Sculpture

This stunning sculpture encapsulates, in just a few centimeters, centuries of Venetian culture and tradition. Deftly mouth-blown by master artisans using polychrome filigree canes, it is shaped like the elegant stiletto shoe "doges" - chief magistrates in the ancient Republic of Venice - used to wear. Gold specks are trapped within the laces and upper edge following the traditional Avventurina technique.
