This contemporary painting, named after the Italian word for 'lying figure', is a visually striking embodiment of Giusto Pilan's artistic research. In this exclusive series, Pilan uses a mixed media technique that involves shaping the subjects with an intaglio press, removing them from their naturalistic context, and placing them in a metaphysical space. The artwork is then filled with a composite of marble dust, wax, and pigments, which are fired into the paper surface.
