Partenope Kinetic Sculpture Limited Edition

Commissioned by Materiæ Edizioni Napoli to The Ladies' Room Collective for EDIT 2019, Partenope is a kinetic sculpture named after the siren that gives the city of Naples its name. This elegant piece consists of a brass stem emerging from a conical base of black marble balancing a curved brass rod from which an oxidized copper disc and a drop in mouth-blown glass hang on opposite ends. This sculpture captures the fleeting moment in which the siren dives into the crystalline water, symbolized by a glass drop, while the copper disc represents the seashore. Limited edition of only 12 pieces.
