Umbria, Italy

Artisan Maurizio Tittarelli Rubboli inherited the prestigious Rubboli workshop established in 1873 in Gualdo Tadino, Umbria by his great-grandfather Paolo Rubboli. His family’s history is inextricably linked to the production of “maiolica a lustro”, the tin-glazed pottery with lusterware, whose secrets have been passed down for generations. Maurizio started his artistic research in this specific field, mastering the art of the “terzo fuoco”, or conducting a third firing in the kiln with newly applied pigments, thus creating playful conceptual pieces of functional décor.
