Vito Salerno

Il ragazzo del legno is the brainchild of Vito Salerno, a young Sicilian artist based in his native town of Chiaramonte Gulfi, whose passion for wood began at a young age, growing up in the midst of wood chips in his carpenter father’s workshop. His grit and dedication are evident in the effortless complexity of his pieces, which showcase different wood varieties and are exclusively handcrafted using simple tools. Salerno was selected as one of the best 10 Italian craftsmen under 35 in 2017 by Florentine “Blogs & Crafts” association at the young age of 24.
