When designing a room, what is the most crucial aspect for you? Talk us through your design process.
The most important thing for me is understanding how my clients want to live in the space. I ask a lot of questions—about their lifestyle, what brings them joy, how they like to entertain, even what their morning routine looks like. I believe a home should reflect the people who live there, so my goal is to create a space that feels deeply personal and tailored. Once I have that understanding, I start to layer in elements that bring warmth, character, and surprise. I love to mix eras, textures, and styles to create something that feels soulful and individual. It’s not just about making a room look beautiful—it has to feel good too.
How would you define your signature style, and how is it reflected in this project?
My design philosophy is what I call "livable luxe." It’s about creating spaces that feel rich and inviting at the same time. I love pieces that are special and beautiful, but they also need to be comfortable and functional. I want people to actually use their spaces, not just admire them. In this project, you’ll see that balance come through—whether it’s a plush, cozy sofa in a room filled with bold art or a dramatic dining table that still feels welcoming enough for a casual family dinner. Every detail is thoughtful, but nothing feels precious or off-limits.
How did you first become involved in the world of design? Tell us your story.
My path into design wasn’t traditional, but it feels like every step led me here. Before becoming an interior designer, I had careers in music and handbag design. While those industries may seem different, they’re all creative outlets. Whether I was writing a song or designing a bag, it was always about expressing an idea and connecting with people. My journey through those experiences has deeply influenced my approach to interior design—they taught me to appreciate details, understand craftsmanship, and embrace creative storytelling.
When I started designing spaces for friends, everything clicked. I realized how much joy it brought me and how powerful design can be in shaping the way people feel in their homes. That was my "ah-ha" moment—when I knew this was what I was meant to do.
Being based in LA has been special, too. The city’s eclectic mix of cultures, lifestyles, and creative energy constantly inspires me. But I work everywhere, and I love the opportunity to learn and grow with each project. Every space tells a new story, and I feel so lucky to help bring those stories to life.
