An extraordinary artwork from the “Over the Contemporary” series of mixed media pieces, this sculpture is inspired by the “nucleus theory” according to which soft shells, rocky tortoises, and perforated or sharpened sheets convey a sense of protection, strength, and vitality behind our conflicting alter ego. A striking array of lines, shapes, and colors, it is handmade of polished iron rebar on iridescent fabric and enriched with a central steel sphere.
