Fashioned of glazed red clay and finely painted by hand, this set of three decorative plates belongs to the Colapesce Collection, a series inspired by a legend popular in Sicily according to which a half-man, half-fish creature chose to physically replace one of the cracking columns supporting the island to save it from sinking. Each plate boasts a different decoration: motifs of scales, sea-horses, columns, and other perninent subjects enchant with their superb aesthetic.
