Twin Yellow Bowl

The works constituting Daniel Cavey’s Blue-footed series are the result of combining a creative exploration of evolutionary biology with functional contemporary pottery. Inspired by the animalistic motifs and symbols found in Pre-Colombian, Central, and South American ceramics, it is the artist’s intention to translate evolutionary processes while meeting the demands of the utilitarian vessel. Each piece is made by hand on the potter’s wheel, glazed, and then fired to stoneware temperatures.
