Each page is stitched by master craftsmen using wooden frames of the type used in the Middle Ages. The binding is executed by hand using red-dyed leather and the finest Italian silk. The two covers are in leather with a central hand-made bas-relief in copper with a gold finish. This unique book by German historian Theodor Mommsen is in Italian (English translation available upon request) and describes the life and exploits of Julius Caesar.
