Using the three-color palette in the Japanese Imari tradition, Vito Nesta created the Natsumi series of porcelain plates inspired by his travels around the world. Evocative images that transport us to distant lands, this exquisite piece features a landscape with traditional Japanese pagodas dotted by a solitary figure with a jingasa hat holding a pipe and gazing out at the panorama. The rusty-red and ivory-gold colors of the design contrast gracefully against the glossy white background, while an unexpected cobalt blue detail on the roof of one pagoda creates an eye-catching accent.
