Falegnameria Helmut Santifaller

Located by the town of Ortisei, in Val Gardena on the Dolomites Mountains, the workshop of Falegnameria Helmut Santifaller is inspired by the local wood carving tradition from this area. Often using reclaimed, antique wood, these craftsmen use traditional methods to bring each piece to life, adding at times small modern elements for a timeless effect.

Vanessa Cavallaro

Vanessa Cavallaro learned the secrets of the glyptic glassmaking on the wheel as a child, visiting her family workshop. Her subsequent studies in fine arts and design and her constant exploration of glassmaking and engraving gave her the ability to create veritable art pieces. In 1993 she started her own workshop in Altare, in Liguria, collaborating with experienced craftsmen. In 2000, she was asked to participate at the 11th Decoration et Jardin exhibit in Monte Carlo, earning the status of international artist and designer.

Her constant experimentation is driven by the beauty of nature and the simplicity of forms. Her most recent artistic endeavor is paper clay, a blend of paper pulp, natural fibers, and clay that results in a unique texture with a delicate and tactile quality.
