Multi-award-winning designer and architect Patricia Urquiola founded her own studio in 2001 in Milan, after working and collaborating with the most important masters of Italian design. Renowned for her playful yet functional style, today Patricia's works are displayed in various Museums worldwide.

Born in Oviedo, Spain, and based in Milan, the work of the renowned Spanish designer and architect Patricia Urquiola focuses on exceptional design and architectural projects as well as stunning exhibitions. After her studies in architecture in Madrid, she graduated from Politecnico di Milano in 1989 having as mentor the world-famous designer Achille Castiglioni. Subsequently, Patricia worked with Vico Magistretti and Maddalena De Padova until she opened her own studio in Milan in 2001.

Multi-award-winning designer, Patricia Urquiola works and collaborates with the most important Italian companies and brands, always experimenting with new techniques: she has designed ceramic tiles, fabrics and glassware along with a variegated collection of chairs, tables, sofas and desks. On the other hand her architectural projects include beautiful homes, retail projects and hotels, such as the Il Sereno Hotel.

Her widely known designs reflect her colorful yet functional and pragmatic style, which combines creativity with purpose. Having learnt how to craft in Italy, Patricia Urquiola focus on manufacturing and the research of high quality materials, experimenting with the renovation of classic shapes and lines.

In everything I do, I begin with memory, but I rethink it in a new way.
